All schools will love this book!
‘Joe and Dusty Save the World’ will appeal to so many school aged children and young people for so many unique and different reasons:
- some will love the beautiful friendship between Joe and his beloved dog Dusty (especially those who have a therapy dog in their school!)
- some will love the feeling of suspense as they anticipate what the aliens will do next and whether Joe and Dusty can save planet Earth
- some will love the fact that they have finally found a book with a hero who they can relate to and will be so proud that Joe, as a differently abled boy, can save the day (with the help of his dog Dusty too, of course!)
- some will love the fun, clever and witty prose the book has been written in by author Robert Martin with some older children even wanting to try their hand at this style
- and some will love the message of optimism, resilience and the wonderful celebration of difference this book brings us where the power of love and friendship wins through, especially considering the year it was written in being 2020.
And I’m sure many school pupils will be eager to hear about any new adventures on the horizon for Joe and Dusty!
